The CO Shield technology in this generator monitors the levels of carbon monoxide (CO) gas, which is a potentially harmful gas produced by the engine exhaust during operation. If unsafe levels of CO gas are detected, the CO Shield will automatically shut off the engine. It's important to note that the CO Shield is not a replacement for a carbon monoxide alarm, and precautions should be taken to ensure that engine exhaust fumes do not enter enclosed spaces through openings like windows, doors, or vents.
